Title: Reminder Regarding Character Length Limitation for Text Messaging
Release by: Jimmy Walsh, Vice President of Operations and Customer Services
Description:
OnviSource would like to remind OnviCom Cloud customers that telephone carriers have a maximum message size of 160 characters. When sending any text message greater than 160 characters, the message will be sent as multiple messages and is billed as such.
In order to minimize costs, it is important to streamline message content.
Suggestions for Reducing Message Content
-
Mark labels such as caller, phone number and reason for call as “hidden when sending Alpha/PCS” so those characters do not count against the 160-character limit.
-
Limit the number of characters agents can type into the edit and memo boxes to make ensure unnecessary characters are not being sent.
-
Options mentioned above can be configured under Properties of the labels, edit and memo boxes.
OnviSource can provide examples of your multipart messages from December 2021.
If you need assistance with your message formats, please contact OnviCare Support at service@onvisource.com or by calling (800) 388-8402.
